Meet the Heart of Our Work
Those Who Help You Grow from Within
Colleen Minkewicz, LSW
School Social Worker
Parent Trainer
Colleen earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Edinboro University in 2019. She holds a license to practice in the state of New Jersey; license number is: 44SL06548800. In the final year of her degree, Colleen worked with a children’s advocacy center and then a special education school for children aged 3-21. While her first full time position was working with intellectually disabled adults in residential housing for a nonprofit, she also began working per diem as a clinic therapist within that same company, specifically providing therapy to children and adolescents.
Colleen’s entire family has always worked within the education system and while she knew her career would not be with teaching, she has always wanted to work with children. There is nothing better than knowing you have helped make a positive impact on someone’s life within the formative years of childhood and adolescence. In 2021, Colleen moved to working within the school system, helping to advocate for students with disabilities and providing emotional support for the wider student population.
After working solely in the school setting for the past four years, Colleen is ready to begin providing direct therapy to those in need once again. She has the most experience in working with children and adolescents who struggle with anxiety and depression, as well as helping those who struggle with more basic things like executive functioning. Colleen meets clients where they are at and helps build confidence and skills from there, generally using strengths based therapy methods.
When not at work, Colleen spends as much time as she can with her nephews and three cats.
